Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Radiologic Technologist – Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology for a part-time role (20 hours weekly) with a 7:00am to 3:30pm schedule and no regular weekends or holidays.

The technologist will assist with cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, maintain sterile technique, document procedures accurately, and work closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in cardiovascular or invasive procedures required
• RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification required
• BCLS and ACLS certifications required within stated timelines

Radiologic Technologist - Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology

• Part-Time | 20 hours per week
• Days | 7:00am - 3:30pm
• No regularly scheduled weekends or holidays
• No call
• Approximately two or three days per month may require staying beyond the 3:30pm time to complete scheduled procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating radiologic imaging equipment during cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures.
• Assisting the procedural team with room preparation, patient positioning, imaging, equipment and supplies.

The Cardiovascular Invasive Technician - Certified provides specialized support during diagnostic and therapeutic/interventional cardiovascular procedures. This role involves assisting physicians, operating specialized equipment, and maintaining sterile techniques to ensure patient safety and quality care. The Technician ensures accurate data recording, documentation, and effective communication with the healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes.

Essential Functions

• Assists physicians during cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures, maintaining sterile techniques and adhering to clinical protocols.
• Operates advanced cardiovascular equipment safely and efficiently, monitoring patient status and adapting to changing conditions as necessary.
• Records, calculates, and verifies data during procedures for physician review, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepares and maintains detailed procedural documentation, including treatment plans, evaluation results, and progress reports, in line with department standards.
• Ensures a safe and efficient environment in the acute care area, responding promptly to patient needs and changes in condition.
• Supports patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring, providing reassurance and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures.
• Collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure seamless workflow, equipment readiness, and effective communication during procedures.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and maintains compliance with best practices, policies, and regulatory standards for cardiovascular care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in cardiovascular or invasive procedures required

Licenses and Certifications

• RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist from the National Board of Cardiovascular Technology required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained within 90 days of hire required and
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
