Job summary

Mille Lacs Health System in Minnesota is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging across multiple modalities under the direction of the Radiology Manager and Radiologist. You will position patients, operate CT, fluoroscopy, X-ray equipment, and ensure ALARA principles are followed to support accurate diagnoses.

Required ARRT-certified two-year program, MN Radiology license, and current BLS. Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to multi-task in a hospital setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT recognized two-year program in radiologic technology.
• Must hold current radiology license in Minnesota and BLS certification.
• Preferred: 1–2 years in hospital radiology setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging across CT, fluoroscopy, X-ray, surgery and related modalities.
• Position patients and ensure diagnostic quality while following ALARA.
• Document in EMR and communicate with radiologists and staff.
• Submit studies to after-hours service with all details and handle charges.

Job description

Summary

The position works under the direction of the Radiology Manager and the Radiologist. This position takes images and radiographs of varied methods of the body in various modalities i.e. CT, Fluoroscopy, Surgery, X-ray, etc. to assist the Medical Staff in the diagnosis of disease and injury.

Job Duties

• Performs Holtor monitors as needed.
• Performs Fluoroscopies, CTs, general X-ray, portables, and surgery.
• Positions patients properly to obtain diagnostic, high quality images.
• Adheres to ALARA principles.
• Must be able to closely follow physician instructions, prepare radiography equipment, position patients and obtain optimal images for diagnosis.
• Document in EMR for every exam performed.
• Communicates with radiologist (including off-site) exam details and status of exams to be read.
• Properly submits studies to after-hours service with all necessary information.
• Properly completes charges for exams performed.
• Burn CD disc or push DICOM images when requested by provider or patient for patient transfers.
• Notifies manager and appropriate department/company of any issues with equipment.
• Keeps manager apprised of equipment, scheduling, and department issues.
• Works towards radiologic competencies and learning of new modalities.
• Efficient/appropriate use of down-time working on various assignments as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Required Education and Experience

• Graduate of an ARRT recognized two-year technical program with certificate of completion or by equivalent outside study.

• Must have current Radiology license in the state of MN by the ARRT.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Must have the ability to multi-task and work independently.

Preferred Education and Experience

• One to two years as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting strongly preferred.
• Associates Degree in Radiology or Healthcare.
