Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to produce high quality X-ray images while adhering to safety and exam protocols. You will verify orders, position patients, and use immobilization devices as needed, under supervision until proficient.

You will also prepare rooms, set up equipment, verify patient data, and ensure images are correctly transferred to PACS for radiologist interpretation. NYS licensure and ARRT CE credits required on hire.

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Current NYS licensure as Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRRT) on hire.
  • ARRT certification with CE credits on hire.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality X-ray images by conducting exams safely and efficiently.
  • Verify orders from referring providers and follow departmental policies.
  • Position patients and use immobilization devices as needed.

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.Responsibilities:Responsible for producing high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner. Verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies. Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use if immobilization devices when warranted. Receives training as well as regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist to perform proficiency of the required tasks. Takes independent responsibility for performing general section studies in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer work while providing high quality images for radiologist interpretation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPrepares room and patient per order. Properly sets up equipment, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors to produce a high quality image.Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider.
