UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Radiologic Technologist-Associate for weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) in San Antonio, TX. Under supervision, you will operate x-ray equipment and capture diagnostic images while maintaining radiation safety standards.

• Maintains exam room cleanliness and stocks supplies.

Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Saturday) & 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Sunday)

Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsible for operating and maintaining x‑ray equipment and taking x‑rays of various portions of the body to assist radiologist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains x‑ray equipment and takes x‑rays of various portions of the body as ordered by the provider while practicing radiation protection techniques at all times.
• Prepares patients for x‑ray by administering drugs or chemical mixtures orally or intravenously; transfers.
• Assists patient as needed to include transferring, positioning and providing instructions regarding the procedure.
• Selects appropriate imaging parameters and operates console and peripheral hardware e.g. stands, positioning device, and any other devices/equipment used in radiology.
• Performs quality assurance on radiographs for optimal imaging; places service calls on equipment as needed.
• Maintains exam room cleanliness and stocks supplies.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Able to demonstrate fundamental knowledge and skill necessary to provide care and imaging to pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Self‑motivated and directed.
• Ability to absorb and incorporate new ideas, concepts and processes quickly.
• Comfortable working with computers and large pieces of technological equipment.
• Must be able to work in a fast pace and high volume environment.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.

  • Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
