Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Radiology Tech II for second (evenings) shift to conduct general diagnostic radiological imaging studies under the direction of a qualified physician.

The role includes patient positioning, operating X-ray equipment and radiology systems, preparing rooms and supplies, preparing patients for procedures, and completing documentation. New grads welcome; ARRT certification required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Radiologic Sciences or Trade School Certificate.
• ARRT certification required or grandfathered staff accepted per merger terms.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiation-producing equipment and radiology systems.

Job Description

Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patients and completes departmental documentation.

Grandfathered staff at time of merger with military radiologic technologist training will be accepted in lieu of ARRT registry.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $33.25 - $49.11 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
