Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging examinations including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT, and MRIs. You will contribute to accurate diagnoses and maintain high standards of patient comfort and safety.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration, and BLS certification. Responsibilities include preparing equipment, explaining procedures, and delivering care across all age

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology and one year of recent related work experience.
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT.
• BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Prepares/operates radiology equipment for the correct size, depth and detail of a requested exposure area based on physicians' orders and department protocols.
• Explains procedures to patients and responds to questions.
• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques to comfort and protect the patient, self and others from unnecessary radiation.
• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques to ensure that results are consistent.
• Cleans equipment after each use.
• Delivers patient care for all age groups while performing radiological exams/procedures and/or special procedures.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Prepares/operates radiology equipment for the correct size, depth and detail of a requested exposure area, based on physicians' orders and in adherence to department protocols.
• Explains procedures to patients and responds to questions.
• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to comfort and protect the patient, self and others from unnecessary radiation.
• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to ensure that results are consistent.
• Cleans equipment after each use.
• Delivers patient care for all age groups while performing radiological exams/procedures and/or special procedures.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology and one year of recent related work experience which may be obtained through practical education/training that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities
• Medical Radiographer: WA
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
• BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred

• Work experience involving the current technical aspects of patient care in a radiology department
