RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for the MMC Specialty Care Center in Monmouth, NJ. The role focuses on producing high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring patient comfort, and adhering to radiation safety standards.

As part of the Radiology-Diagnostic department, you will collaborate with physicians and nurses, maintain equipment, and engage in ongoing professional development to advance patient care and imaging quality.

Qualifications

Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Current ARRT certification.
Active New Jersey Radiologic Technologist license (NJDEP).
Maintains BLS Heart Saver/Healthcare Provider through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures following established protocols.
Prepare patients for imaging exams, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety.
Position patients and operate radiologic equipment to obtain optimal images while minimizing radiation exposure.
Apply radiation safety principles and comply with regulatory standards.
Review images for quality and communicate with radiologists and providers.
Document imaging procedures and exam details in the EMR and imaging systems.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to coordinate patient care.
Maintain imaging equipment and report any concerns.
Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and imaging opportunities.

A typical day for a Radiologic Technologist may include:

Performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures while following established protocols to support accurate and timely diagnoses
Preparing patients for imaging exams by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process
Positioning patients accurately and operating radiologic equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure
Applying radiation safety principles and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards to protect patients, colleagues, and yourself
Reviewing images for quality and completeness, identifying the need for additional views when appropriate, and communicating with radiologists and providers
Accurately documenting imaging procedures, patient information, and exam details within the electronic medical record and imaging systems
Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure efficient workflow
Maintaining imaging equipment, monitoring supplies, and reporting equipment concerns to support uninterrupted patient care
Pursuing continued professional development through continuing education, advanced imaging opportunities, and organizational resources that support long-term career growth
