Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in the Puget Sound region seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate imaging equipment and deliver high-quality patient care. You will perform X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI exams while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.

Must graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, hold ARRT registration (Radiography) and WA licensure, and maintain CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology with at least one year of related work experience.
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, WA licensure, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Responsibilities

• Prepares and operates radiology equipment per physician orders and department protocols.
• Protects patients and staff from unnecessary radiation using proper techniques.
• Performs imaging exams (X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI) and ensures consistent results.
• Cleans equipment after use and delivers patient care across age groups.
• Acts as liaison between patient and radiologist to ensure comfort and safety.
• Performs basic patient care functions within radiology services.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Prepares/operates radiology equipment for the correct size, depth and detail of a requested exposure area, based on physicians’ orders and in adherence to department protocols. Explains procedures to patients and responds to questions.


• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to comfort and protect the patient, self and others from unnecessary radiation.


• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to ensure that results are consistent.


• Cleans equipment after each use. Delivers patient care for all age groups while performing radiological exams/procedures and/or special procedures.


• Acts as a liaison between the patient and the radiologist; comforts and protects the patient, self and others from unnecessary radiation.


• Regularly performs basic functions in regard to patient care.
