Qualifications

  • BLS healthcare provider certification is required, with MA-R planned within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience with digital radiography and QA procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs per procedures.
  • Performs high quality digital x-rays and uploads securely; troubleshoots equipment as needed.
  • Maintains x-ray PACS, storage, retrieval, and documentation.
  • Maintains examination rooms, supplies, and inventory.
  • Communicates with physicians and care team to ensure patient care continuity.
  • Prepares digital images and B-READ forms for reading; adheres to ALARA.

Job description

Description

The Radiologic Technologist will independently operate diagnostic equipment, complete routine imaging studies, and assist physicians in a variety of imaging procedures. The selected candidate must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and imaging techniques. The selected candidate must also communicate with patients and relay any pertinent information to the physician and document appropriately. Position responsible for implementing safety standards and performing appropriate quality control procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Safely operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Performs high quality digital x-rays, electronically upload on a secure server and process written reports. Troubleshoots equipment problems as needed.
  • Maintains x-ray equipment and supplies. Calibrates all ancillary testing equipment daily and ensures all calibrations and monthly safety acceptance records are QA'd and maintained.
  • Maintains x-ray PACS including storage, retrieval, transportation, and documentation.
  • Maintains examination rooms and equipment. Cleans instruments. Maintains inventory of supplies.
  • Assists physicians upon request and communicates effectively with other care providers (physicians, nurses, etc.) to provide for continuity of patient care and to meet the needs of the patients we serve.
  • Prepares digital images and B-READ form to be uploaded for reading.
  • Communicates with providers concerning pathology and appropriate positioning to view specific anatomy on radiographs.
  • Operates testing equipment to administer audiograms, visual acuity, ocular tension, pulmonary function, and electrocardiogram and obtains vital signs as needed.
  • Maintains QA program and performs end of month duties.
  • Adheres to and fosters acceptable health and safety practices, including ALARA.
  • Ensures yearly competencies and maintains job required certifications/licensing/CE credits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
Required:
  • Associate in Applied Science in Radiologic Technology.
  • Experience directly related to essential functions.
  • Current registration as a certified Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certified as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of Washington.
  • BLS health care provider certification.
  • Obtain Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) within 90 days of hire.
  • Obtain certifications to perform testing as an MA-R within 90 days of hire.

  • Opportunities for local travel may occur
Pay Range

$40-$42.00/hr commensurate of experience

Must be U.S. Citizenship or National and have ability to successfully obtain necessary security clearance.
