Job summary

Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, VA seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform general diagnostic imaging under physician supervision, including patient positioning and equipment operation. Some sites may require phlebotomy competency for lab work.

Registry-eligible graduates must obtain ARRT registration within 180 days. Full-time role with Monday–Friday evening hours and strong teamwork in a community-focused health system.

Qualifications

• Registry eligible graduate; must obtain ARRT registration within 180 days of hire.
• Trade School Graduate is required.
• ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist certification expected with basic life support.
• Experience coordinating others and understanding straightforward procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general diagnostic radiological imaging studies under physician direction.
• Position patients for correct anatomy/pathology demonstrations.
• Operate radiology equipment and electronic radiology systems; prepare patient room/equipment/medications.
• Phlebotomy competency for lab may be required at sites handling both Radiology and Lab.

Job Description

Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic Radiology systems and preparation of patient room/equipment/medications.

Phlebotomy competency for lab may be required for certain sites that do both Radiology and Lab.

Qualifications

Shift

Full-time days. Monday to Friday from 0700-1530
