Job summary

Arizona General Hospital in Laveen, AZ, seeks a CT Radiologic Technologist to produce diagnostic CT and radiographic images, supporting radiologists with timely, accurate results.

You will perform a variety of imaging examinations daily, uphold ALARA principles, ensure patient safety, and follow established steps for x-ray and CT procedures, including patient identifiers and positioning.

This satellite ER position offers autonomy and a close-knit culture within a community-focused hospital.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of current experience performing CT and radiographic procedures in an ER setting.
• Graduate of a 2-year accredited radiology technology program.
• Must maintain AZ DHS CRT (CT CRT) license and CT license (LIC CT).
• Must hold ARRT CT certification.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT and radiographic procedures at a proficient technical level.
• Ensure CT and radiographic images meet diagnostic quality standards.
• Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff (ALARA).
• Follow all steps for taking an x-ray and CT scan, including patient identification and positioning.
• Maintain patient safety throughout procedures.

Job description

As our CT Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Utilizes good radiation safety practices for patients, self and others
• Independently performs CT and radiographic procedures at a technical level
• Ensures all CT and radiographic images are of diagnostic quality
• Displays competency performing procedures; follows every step for taking an x-ray and CT scan (two patient identifier, gel in/gel out, etc.)
• Uses proper technique to reduce patient exposure to radiation (ALARA)
• Takes all precautions necessary to ensure the patient's safety during procedures

This position is based at one of our satellite freestanding emergency departments. These locations offer an alternative to the complexity of a large hospital and is the ideal position for technologists who value autonomy and a close-knit culture

Job Requirements

• One (1) year of current experience performing CT and Radiographic procedures in an emergency room setting.
• Graduate of a 2 year accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• Must hold and maintain AZ DHS Bureau of Special Licensing CRT: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CT CRT) and CTCT: Certified Technologist/Computed Tomography (LIC CT)
• Must also hold and maintain national American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (CT ARRT)
• American Heart Association-issued Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)

Preferred

• Level 1 or 2 trauma center ER experience.
