Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) in Albany, OR is seeking a Radiography Trainee (X-Ray Reader Trainee) to develop expertise in non-destructive testing and interpret radiographic images.

You will follow technique cards, calibrate equipment, and document results while training on the job to meet quality standards for aerospace castings.

Swing shift opportunities with a $1.00/hr differential and comprehensive benefits are available to successful candidates.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; relevant experience may substitute.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Solid job history with more than 1 year at a previous employer.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment background check and periodic drug screening.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-destructive testing using radiographic images to determine casting quality.
• Follow technique cards for radiographic inspections of castings.
• Evaluate each image to ensure accuracy and image quality.
• Visually inspect each casting to identify areas for improvement in casting or welding.
• Endorse radiographic reports confirming inspections and findings.
• Develop shooting techniques as required; calibrate equipment.

Summary:

The X-Ray Readerwill learn and utilize expertise in non-destructive testing to assure compliance with the quality requirements of the company and customers. They will interpret radiographic images and document results in accordance with established technique cards, develop shooting techniques as required, calibrate equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Performnon-destructive testing using radiographic images to determine casting quality and pinpoint corrections needed for discrepancies in parts.
• Utilize instructions for radiographic inspections of castings through technique cards.
• Evaluate each image to ensure uniform accuracy and image quality.
• Visually inspect each casting to identify areas that require improvements in casting or welding.
• Find areas of frequently occurring imperfections and consult engineering or other necessary departments.
• Endorse radiographic reports authorizing complete and accurate inspections have been performed and findings documented.
• Develop shooting techniques as required.
• Calibrate equipment and inspect radiographic equipment.
• Other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to understand all associated documentation and part routing procedures.
• Ability to maintain high quality ratings while also processing parts at an acceptable production speed.
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision.

Education & Experience:

• Able to work as a team player and be self-motivated.
• Able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Compliance with general company attendance standard is required.
• HS diploma or equivalent GED required, but candidates not meeting this requirement who possesses relevant experience will be considered.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Solid job history including more than 1 year at previous or recent employer.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check.
• Must be willing to participate in pre-employment and periodic drug screening.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.

Mental & Physical Demands

• Must have vision acuity which meets test chart and color perception to distinguish and differentiate between colors used.

• Work may be performed in noisy areas, where odors may be present.
