Holidays- average of 2 per year.**About the Position**The Radiography Technologist supports the Reid Health Mission, Vision, Values, and Key Service Behaviors. The Radiography Technologist performs radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations on patients per physician/provider orders with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.**Overview of Responsibilities*** Competently operates radiographic equipment* Accurately evaluates requests for radiographic procedures* Obtains patient history and symptoms* Performs radiographic procedures per provider orders* Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served* Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiographic procedures* Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families* Accurately performs appropriate documentation* Follows radiation safety policies and guidelines* Takes responsibility for personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring* Appropriately uses radiation protection devices* Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities* Assists in the clinical instruction of radiography studentsThis list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management deems necessary.**Education & Experience*** Additional radiology education would be nice to have.* educational program would be nice to have.* Must be certified or eligible to be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)* Additional experience as a licensed Radiography Technologist after completing the**Licensure & Certification*** Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Indiana Department of Health* Certification and Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT.* Current in BLS certification.Reid Health's inpatient hospital is a 189-bed, regional referral center with a Level lll Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center designation.
