Job summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Technician to support the Level II NDE Technician in designated NDT method activities while gaining hands-on experience on site.

You will assist with equipment setup and teardown, perform maintenance, and help document services. The role requires safety compliance, the ability to travel, and a valid driver’s license. A 40-hour Radiation Safety Course certificate is required, with state radiographer cards preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to travel out of town and overnight on short notice.
• Must be able to communicate with clients, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
• Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications preferred.
• Proven ability to follow precise directions and procedures.
• Proven ability to adapt to an ever-changing schedule.
• Must possess a 40 hour Radiation Safety Course certificate of completion.
• State Industrial Radiographer’s Card or IRRSP Card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with setting up and tearing down of equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations, and overall upkeep of equipment and facilities.
• Assist with proper documentation and reports of services provided.
• Learn and abide by company policies and procedures.
• Those hired to perform work as an Assistant Radiographer or Radiographer Trainee are also responsible for the following: operate radiographic equipment under direct supervision and maintain control of equipment.
• Secure industrial radiographic equipment from unauthorized removal when not tended.
• Prevent unauthorized personnel from being in restricted areas during radiographic use.
• Provide required notification to safety personnel in the event of incidents.
