Job summary

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is hiring a PRN Radiation Therapy Technologist to provide onsite RT services at Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. The role requires at least 1 year of experience and ARRT(T) certification, with duties including patient setup, imaging, treatment delivery, QA, and safety.

The position involves working primarily Monday–Friday with potential shift changes; on-site at the VA facility with adherence to VA and Ansible policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy program or equivalent
• ARRT(T) certification required
• AHA BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Operate linear accelerators and radiation therapy equipment to deliver prescribed treatments.
• Prepare imaging, simulation, and treatment equipment for patient use.
• Position patients accurately for treatment and ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Explain procedures to patients and monitor during treatment.
• Maintain treatment records and daily notes in CPRS.
• Perform daily QA checks on therapy equipment.
• Assist in CT simulation procedures and data acquisition.
• Construct contours and assist in treatment planning.
• Localize tumor volumes with simulator radiographs.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and participate in QA activities.

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a PRN Radiation Therapy Technologist to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center located at 5901 E. 7th St. Long Beach, CA 90822. The clinic hours are typically Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm. Must be able to cover at least 4 shifts per month. Responsibilities

• Operate linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment to deliver prescribed radiation treatments to patients.
• Prepare imaging, simulation, treatment, and ancillary equipment for patient use.
• Position patients accurately for treatment, using immobilization devices as necessary.
• Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and cooperation throughout the treatment process.
• Observe andmonitorpatients during treatments for reactions and safety concerns.
• Maintainaccuratetreatment records, including daily treatment notes in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
• Perform daily quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment.
• Assistin CT simulation procedures, includingacquiringspecific data setsas prescribed byphysicists or physicians.
• Constructaccuratecontours of patients’ bodies and perform necessary measurements for treatment planning.
• Operate simulator equipment and take high-quality radiographs to accurately localize tumor volumes.
• Limit radiation fields using lead cut-outs or multi-leaf collimation (MLC).
• Assist Radiation Oncologists with bolus design according to physician’s direction.
• Maintain and update patient treatment charts and records.
• Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and continuing education.
• Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary radiation oncology team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy program (or equivalent accredited program)
• ARRT(T) certification
• AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience
• Experience with:
  • 3D-CRT
  • IMRT
  • IGRT
  • CT Simulation
• Experience with Varian TrueBeam and ARIA (if this is actually used at the site)
• Patient care and communication skills
• VA background check requirement
• No Sponsorship currently available

All candidates must be able to:

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
• Lift up to 20 lbs
• Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
• Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
