Job summary

Peninsula Radiation is seeking a Radiation Therapist to develop and administer individualized treatment plans using imaging equipment, monitor progress, and support patients and families. You will work closely with the care team to ensure safe, effective therapy and to uphold high professional standards in all communications.

The role requires handling multiple tasks, applying ALARA principles, maintaining accurate charts, and participating in daily QA and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• ARRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the prescribed, planned course of radiation therapy under the direction of the prescribing radiation oncologist.
• Observe patients for unusual reactions and recognize signs and symptoms of developing complications during treatment course.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients as they are performed in a clear, concise manner and answer questions from patients and families.
• Maintain department records of daily treatment and review charts for accuracy; perform chart audits as directed.
• Lead code blue drills and participate in daily QA and quality assurance procedures.
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
