Qualifications

• Requires analytical ability to determine proper set-up of equipment and patient, calculate treatment details and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to work with patients and healthcare staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients according to established procedure.
• Review patient treatment chart for prescription, time and dose; prepare room and equipment.
• Explain procedures and reassure patients about treatment reactions and care of irradiated areas.
• Administer prescribed radiation therapy and operate equipment to deliver dosage.
• Monitor patients during treatments and document treatment in charts.
