Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a top hospital northeast of Columbus, Ohio. The role offers a full-time schedule with a favorable call rotation and a strong compensation package, including a $15,000 sign-on bonus.

The position requires ARRT (T) certification, an Ohio radiation therapist license, 3–5 years of experience in simulation and planning, and a current BLS certification. On-site work with a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved Radiation Therapy Training Program.
• Hold ARRT (T) certification and Ohio Radiation Therapist license.
• 3–5 years of radiation therapy experience with simulation and planning.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform the job functions of a radiation therapist and related administrative duties.
• Review, write, and update radiation policies and procedures.
• Educate staff on policies, procedures, and Ohio Department of Health requirements.
• Review ODH Administrative Code requirements and assist the director in meeting them.
• Ensure equipment quality checks are completed and equipment is safe.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Chair and document radiation therapy QA and improvement meetings.
• Assist with QA/QI plans and support CoC standards.
• Assist with coordinating patient care based on patient needs.
• Assist in staff training, orientation, and evaluations.
• Maintain knowledge of radiation oncology billing and assist with edits.
• Support physicist with safety requirements and EMR implementation.
• Maintain understanding of therapy equipment and patient information systems.

Education

Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Training Program

ARRT (T) certification

Ohio Department of Health Radiation Therapist license

BLS (American Heart Association) certification

Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred)

Location: Centerburg, Ohio | Schedule: full time, Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm, on-site (call rotation 1 week on, 2 weeks off; no weekends or holidays) | Compensation: 84K-107K depending on experience, plus a 15K sign on bonus

Overview

What you'll do

• Perform the job functions of a radiation therapist as well as administrative duties as assigned by the department director
• Review, write, and update radiation policies and procedures
• Educate staff on policies, procedures, and Ohio Department of Health (ODH) requirements
• Review ODH Administrative Code requirements and assist the department director in meeting those requirements
• Monitor and assure all equipment quality checks are completed, logged, and that equipment is safe and functioning properly
• Monitor and assure preventative maintenance and repairs are completed
• Chair and document radiation therapy Quality Assurance and Improvement meetings
• Assist with developing QA/QI plans and act as a resource for staff; assist the director in meeting Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards
• Assist with coordinating patient care based on patient needs
• Assist in the selection, training, and orientation of radiation therapy personnel
• Assist the director with staff competencies and evaluations
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of radiation oncology billing procedures and assist with edits/audits
• Assist the physicist with quality and safety requirements and assist with implementation and continuous use of the electronic medical record
• Maintain a complete understanding of therapy equipment, including the VARIAN linear accelerator and patient protection devices, hardware and software for patient information systems (HIS, PACS, RIS, IMPAC, etc.), CT Simulation Unit, and Portal Vision

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Training Program
• Current license from the ARRT specific to Radiation Therapy - ARRT (T)
• Valid Radiation Therapist license from the Ohio Department of Health
• 3-5 years of radiation therapy experience required, with specific training in simulation and planning
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification required

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
