Job summary

Iredell Health System seeks a Radiation Therapist to perform localization of tumors and administer radiation to adult and geriatric patients under physician guidance. You will assist in treatment planning, immobilization device design, dosimetry, and QA, while supporting training of staff.

Must hold ARRT in Radiation Therapy and BLS certification. Shift: Days, PRN; location on site; candidates should be able to lift up to 30 pounds and pass a basic FIT test.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy is required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Staff Therapist in a modern Radiation Therapy center is preferred.
• Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Also, moving patients, lifting accessory equipment, lots of walking, pushing wheelchairs and stretchers.

Job description

Performs a variety of technical tasks associated with the localization of tumors and the administration of radiation to patients, predominately adult and geriatric, as prescribed by the physician. Participates in treatment planning, custom block and immobilization device design and fabrication, dosimetry calculations and quality control and assurance. Assists in training of support personnel. Has full access to patient health information.
