• BLS certification through AHA or ARC is required.
• Must pass a FIT test and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to move patients and assist with equipment and transport.

Responsibilities

• Localization of tumors and administration of radiation to patients.
• Participation in treatment planning and immobilization device design/fabrication.
• Perform dosimetry calculations and quality assurance tasks.
• Assist in training of support personnel.

The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality radiation therapy treatments while providing exceptional patient support and care. Candidates perform a variety of technical tasks associated with the localization of tumors and the administration of radiation to patients, predominately adult and geriatric, as prescribed by the physician. Candidates participate in treatment planning, custom block and immobilization device design and fabrication, dosimetry calculations and quality control and assurance. Candidates assist in training of support personnel. Has full access to patient health information.

Requirements

• Must be ARRT certified in Radiation Therapy.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Staff Therapist in a modern Radiation Therapy center is preferred.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Also, moving patients, lifting accessory equipment, lots of walking, pushing wheelchairs and stretchers.
