Job summary

LewisGale Regional Health System is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join the Pulaski hospital as a PRN position. You will administer prescribed doses of radiation, verify treatment details, and ensure patient comfort and safety during therapy.

Requirements include ARRT-T Radiation Therapy certification and an associate or bachelor's degree; BLS within 90 days. This role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities within our regional health network.

Responsibilities

• Verify prescribed treatment dose, body parts to be treated and angles.
• Place and immobilize patient and maintain proper position during treatment.
• Ensure protective devices shield healthy tissue.
• Chart treatment details and report abnormalities to the radiation oncologist.
• Provide patient and family teaching as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Radiation Therapist, your primary function is to administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards. In addition:

• You are responsible for verifying prescribed treatment dose, specific body parts to be treated and angles to be used.
• You will place and immobilize the patient to ensure accurate treatment. Maintain constant contact with the patient to assure they remain in proper position throughout treatment.
• You must assure placement of protective devices to shield healthy exposed tissue of patients.
• Chart treatment details and report any abnormal conditions to the radiation oncologist.
• You are expected to provide appropriate teaching to patients and families.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• (ARRT-T) Radiation Therapy
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
