Responsibilities

• Check prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification.
• Liaise with physicist and supportive care personnel.
• Prepare equipment, immobilization, treatment, and protection devices, and position patient per prescription.
• Enter data into computer and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage.
• Observe and reassure patient during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician.
• Perform a timeout procedure prior to delivering prescribed dose of radiation.
• Maintain records, reports, and files as required.
• Follow principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others.
• Perform patient simulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
