Responsibilities

• Administers ionizing radiation therapy according to prescription and instruction of the radiation oncologist.
• Verifies informed consent and patient identification; checks calculations prior to treatment.
• Ensures accurate positioning and patient comfort; maintains patient contact during treatment.
• Delivers prescribed treatment with supervision as needed; prepares treatment room and transfers patient safely.
• Maintains skin markings and uses tattoo techniques where required; observes reactions and reports to Radiation Oncologist or Nurse.

May assist physics in block making and calibration.* Knowledgeable in use of multi-leaf collimator.* Maintains orderliness and efficiency of work area.* Maintains department records correctly: records daily treatment chart accurately as prescribed.* Performs patient quality assurance routinely.* Keeps treatment and simulation rooms supplied with inventory as needed.* Presents him/herself in a professional manner and dress at all times in the work place.* Assist in orientation of new employees.* Provides technical direction, guidance and explanation to others.**Pay Range:**$47.00 - $63.26The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
