Job summary

St. Francis, part of Catholic Health in New York, seeks a Radiation Therapist to administer daily radiation on a linear accelerator using SBRT/SFRT/SRS/IMRT and to schedule treatments for patients.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an approved radiation therapy program with a NYS license and ARRT in good standing, plus knowledge of Varian TrueBeam, ARIA, Vision RT, and related systems. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

• Experience with radiotherapy planning and treatment delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation doses per physician orders.
• Operate and monitor radiotherapy equipment safely.
• Interpret images and prepare immobilization devices.
• Schedule treatments and simulations for patients.
• Maintain ethical standards per ASRT code of ethics.
• Review patient data and verify treatment records daily.

Job Details

The therapist is responsible for administering daily radiation treatment on a linear accelerator using various treatment techniques such as SBRT/SFRT/SRS/IMRT along with simulation and scheduling patients for treatments. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior patient care an outstanding communication skills while adhering to St Francis radiation oncology’s high standard of excellence.

Duties of the radiation therapist may include the following but are not limited to:

• Deliver prescribed therapeutic doses of radiation in accordance with physician orders.
• Correctly prepare, operate and monitor radiotherapy equipment and accessories.
• Interpret images
• Prepare immobilization devices and bolus material.
• Perform daily review of all new patient and cone down data in the record and verify system.
• Arrange daily appointments for treatments and simulations.
• Adhere to the ASRT radiation therapist code of ethics

Requirements For The Radiation Therapist Position Include

• Graduate of an approved program in radiation therapy.
• NYS radiation therapy license
• Member of the ARRT in good standing

Salary Range

USD $66.14 - USD $66.14 /Hr.
