Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Radiation Therapist (Flat Rate) for St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. This role directs daily treatment operations to ensure safe and high-quality patient care, under Radiology Oncology leadership. Responsibilities include setup, patient positioning, documentation, simulations, and daily safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Sets up treatment rooms, devices, and parameters as ordered by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Identifies patients and monitors them during treatment.
• Reinforces instructions and maintains patient markings.
• Positions patients according to prescriptions, requiring physical effort and mental application.
• Coordinates treatment area activities and scheduling.
• Documents thoroughly in treatment records.
• Performs simulations, brachytherapy procedures, and daily quality checks on equipment.
• Maintains equipment, reports problems, and observes radiation safety practices.
• Assists in treatment device changes and follows instructions from Radiation Oncologists.
• Performs ancillary duties, such as filing, answering phones, and monitoring supplies.
