Job summary

Redeemer Health in Meadowbrook, PA seeks a Radiation Therapist to join our Oncology team. Under supervision, you will perform all technical procedures to deliver accurate radiation dose, operate CT Sim and linear accelerator, and ensure precise patient positioning.

Qualifications include completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program, ARRT certification, CPR, and at least 6 months clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program, holding certificate or degree.
• Proficient in Radiation Oncology procedures including operation of treatment machines, simulator, film processor, mold and immobilization equipment, computer software.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a clinical environment.
• CPR certified.
• Basic knowledge of computers required.
• Must be reliable, motivated and have good communication skills.
• Graduate of a two year AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• A.R.R.T. (American Registry Radiologic Technology) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation therapy care to patients and perform all required technical procedures.
• Operate CT simulator and linear accelerator with accurate dose delivery.
• Perform portal imaging and film processing; fabricate immobilization devices.
• Handle treatment planning data, dose verification and record-keeping.
• Document in the medical record and coordinate patient scheduling and billing.
• Ensure patient positioning, preparation, instruction and assessment of patient needs.

SUMMARY OF JOB

Under the direction and supervision of the Medical Physicist, Radiation Oncologist and Cancer Center Director, provides radiation therapy care to patients performing all technical procedures required to deliver accurate dose of radiation therapy treatment: operation of CT Sim and linear accelerator; portal imaging and film processing; mold and immobilization device fabrication; computer technology and software requirements for treatment planning, dose verification and recording; documentation in medical record; patient scheduling and billing. The radiation therapists provide safe and quality care to patients with appropriate positioning, preparation, instruction and assessment of patient needs.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program, holding certificate or degree
