Job description

Purpose:

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is internationally recognized for its leadership in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment. It is the region's only comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute.

Position Overview:

We are hiring a casual Radiation Therapist to support UPMC Pinnacle's Radiation Oncology Network offices in York, Carlisle, Harrisburg, & Mechanicsburg, PA. This role involves working a casual, as-needed daylight schedule Monday through Friday, floating between the Hillman Cancer Center Pinnacle network locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Operations: Assist in patient treatment delivery, including localization, simulation, immobilization, and other procedures. Support patient education and monitor reactions to treatments. Maintain a safe treatment environment and assist at other locations as needed.
  • Regulatory Affairs Management: Ensure compliance with safety standards, participate in inspections, and maintain HIPAA compliance. Complete annual competencies and report equipment issues.
  • Continuing Education: Participate in required training to maintain ARRT Certification.
  • Fiscal Responsibilities: Assist in charge capture, manage supplies, and use resources effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform daily QA activities, document findings, and collaborate to improve care quality.
