Job summary

Inova Potomac Radiation Oncology Center in Woodbridge, VA seeks a dedicated Radiation Therapist 2 for a day-shift, full-time role Monday–Friday. The specialist will set up and administer radiation treatments, perform simulations, and ensure equipment readiness for daily therapy sessions.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree or Certification.
• Experience: 2 years as a staff therapist in a Radiation Therapy department with experience in linear accelerators and patient simulation.
• Certification: American Registered Radiologic Technologist required upon start; Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon start.
• License: VA License required for Inova Potomac Radiation Oncology Center.

Responsibilities

• Provides education and support of methods appropriate to patients' levels of understanding and motivation.
• Positions patients for initial treatment and verifies set-up per prescriptions; verifies beam parameters and blocking.
• Maintains accurate records of daily treatments and other records as required; documents corrections in charts.
• Performs daily quality assurance on linear accelerators, simulators and CT machines to verify output and safety.
