Job summary

City of Hope in South Pasadena is seeking a Radiation Therapist I/II to join the Radiation Oncology team. You will perform treatments and simulations on a Varian 2100iX and Philips CT simulator, collaborating with the radiation oncology care team to ensure timely, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent; Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training in an accredited Radiation Therapy Education Program.
• Licensed by the California State Department of Health (Certified in Radiation Therapy)
• Certification by the ARRT – in Radiation Therapy CRT
• BLS or CPR
• Note: For Radiation Therapist I, candidates will have <3 years of RT experiences; pay range is listed above
• For candidates with >3 years of RT experiences, candidates will qualify for RT II; pay range is: $61.20/hr - $76.50 - $91.80/hr

Responsibilities

• Deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients of all ages.
• Reinforce recommendations given to patient by healthcare professional concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiated area, prevention, or treatment of generalized and local side effects.
• Perform simulation procedures as prescribed by physician and assist in dosimetry procedures.
• Perform daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators, reporting any variation in morning warm-up. Reports improper equipment operation to appropriate personnel.
