Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Radiation Therapist I at Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, FL. The role supports the Ancillary Cancer Center with days shift, 8:00am-4:30pm, and offers a sign-on bonus up to $8,000.

You will work with a team to deliver prescribed radiation therapy and participate in a fast-paced clinical environment. Qualified candidates will have ARRT certification, CAHEA-approved education, and active BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology or registry eligible.
• Board certified Registered Radiation Therapist through ARRT, R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT) in good standing.
• Current state licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• Experience with Radiation Oncology and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic and patient care services to deliver radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.
• Determine and deliver appropriate patient treatment plans in collaboration with physician and dosimetrist.
• Monitor and document patient’s condition; report adverse reactions.
• Educate patients according to department protocols.
• Position patients and select anatomic/technical parameters accurately.
• Check and adjust equipment, including linear accelerator.

As aRadiationTherapist, you willimplementprescribedtreatmentsto patients with various forms of cancer.Radiation is administered in therapeutic doses and can send certain localized forms of cancer into remission. A caregiver in this position worksdaysfrom 8:00AM –4:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide therapeutic and patient care services to deliver radiation therapyas prescribed bya physician.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology or registry eligible

• Board certified Registered Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT) in good standing

• Current state licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross

• Experience withRadiationOncologyandspecific electronic medical records

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Experience withExternalRadiationTherapy, IMRT, IGRT andCTSimulation

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping, reaching and lifting.

• Ability to lift materials weighing up to 35 lbs. Ability to push/pull over 100 lbs. Dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions.

• Safe Operating Procedure for x-ray generating equipment.

• Ability to work the hours of operation - flexible. Ability to take “call” on weekdays and weekends based on a rotational schedule.

• Ability to float to other CCHS facilities when needed.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
