Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center is seeking a Radiation Therapist to perform radiotherapy procedures and provide patient care under physician direction. You will deliver prescribed therapy and monitor responses while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires an associate degree in radiography with ARRT certification and an Ohio license, with 1–2 years of experience preferred. The position includes day shifts and a strong team approach to patient care.

Qualifications

• A minimum of Associate degree in radiography with a certification in Radiation Therapy.
• Bachelors degree in Radiation Therapy is preferred.
• Graduate of a JRCERT approved school registered through the ARRT in Radiation Therapy.
• State of Ohio licensed radiation therapist; ARRT license; CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
• Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures; observes patient for any unusual reactions or events during treatment.
• Schedules patients for treatments; interfaces with physicist at initiation of treatment; consults with supportive care physicians, nurses and social workers.
• Prepares room and equipment for patient; transfers immobilized patient from stretcher to treatment couch, giving special care to catheters, IVs, oxygen, respirator, chest tubes, and other life support; positions patient in prescribed anatomical positions for treatment.
• Prepares electronic and/or written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports and other such reports.
