Job summary

OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus is seeking a casual/PRN Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology department. You will deliver prescribed radiation therapy, prepare patients for treatment, and participate in simulation and dose calculations.

This position supports coverage for time off and leave of absence, with day shifts 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Qualified candidates hold an Associate's Degree, ARRT certification, and Ohio licensure, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification and Ohio licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Graduate of approved Radiation Therapy Technology Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Administers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis.
• Maintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages and calculations and other necessary treatment records.
• Performs simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dose calculations.
• May be required to be on-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Maintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients; communicates with families and hospital personnel to coordinate schedules.
• Monitors patient condition and progress daily (weight, skin care, reactions).
• Assists Radiation Oncologist in brachytherapy procedures.
• Oversees and directs clinical activities of Radiation Therapy Technology students.
• Provides clinical insight to Radiologic Technology students and nursing students as needed.
• Participates in Department Clinical QA activities, new patient conference, tumor board and QRM.

Our hours of operations are from 8am-4:3pm Monday through Friday and will reach out to the therapist as needed to fill open position due to time off, sickness, leave of absence, etc The Radiation Therapist delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. They prepare patients for a course of Radiation Therapy inclusive of simulation, dose calculations and acquiring of treatment parameters.**Responsibilities And Duties:**35% Administers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis. 20% Maintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages and calculations and other necessary treatment records. 5% Performs simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dose calculations. 10% Therapists who are scheduled to work 80 hours per pay, may be required to be on-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. 10% Maintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients communicates frequently with families and hospital personnel to maintain schedule coordination and accommodate patients as best as possible. 10% Monitors patient Condition and progress on a daily basis. i.e., patient weighs, skin care, reaction, etc. . 5% Assists Radiation Oncologist in performance of Brachytherapy procedures.
