Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Radiation Therapist to deliver prescribed radiation treatments, assist with simulations, and document treatment records. The role supports patient care under the guidance of senior staff and requires strong communication skills and ARRT(T) certification.

Responsibilities include EMR data entry, QA checks, and collaboration with the clinical team to ensure high-quality treatment and patient education. COVID-19 vaccination may be considered in employment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Radiation Therapy is required.
• ARRT(T) certification is required or in process; ARRT(T) preferred.
• Temporary State License accepted if ARRT(T) not yet obtained, with certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Deliver radiation treatment per prescription and treatment plan under supervision.
• Escort and position patients on treatment tables and assist with simulations.
• Document treatment records accurately and report deviations.
• Explain procedures to patients and reinforce education on side effects.
• Input data into EMR and participate in QA checklists.
• Assist with imaging/ARGT and treatment-related procedures.
• Capture and verify patient treatment charges and participate in care improvement programs.

Job description

• Deliver radiation treatment according to written prescriptions and treatment plans under the guidance of an RT, Senior RT, or Lead RT
• Identify and escort patients, assist them onto treatment tables, position them, deliver radiation from the control room, and assist them when exiting
• Provide a caring, supportive environment for patients, visitors, medical staff, and coworkers
• Accurately document treatment records and report deviations from prescribed treatment
• Explain treatment procedures, respond to patient concerns, observe treatment reactions, and reinforce patient education and side-effect management
• Observe and learn to perform patient simulations; collect and document simulation data
• Input treatment-related data into the EMR and make patient-centric recommendations to the clinical team
• Assist with treatment-related procedures, including transporting patients, reviewing charts, and ordering supplies
• Recognize standard imaging/ARGT and make necessary adjustments for high-quality treatment
• Perform and document daily and weekly QA checklists; report abnormal findings
• Participate in quality-of-care improvement programs
• Capture and verify patient treatment charges

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Certificate from College or Technical School required
• ARRT(T) required or in the process to obtain ARRT(T) certification preferred
• If not currently registered by the ARRT in Radiation Therapy, Temporary State License accepted in lieu of ARRT(T), with ARRT certification required within one year of hire or title change
• CPR Certification required
• Preferred experience: 3 years

• Ability to deliver radiation treatment according to written prescription and treatment plan

• Ability to recognize treatment deviations and report them appropriately
