Join our team at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach as a Radiation Therapist, working days from 8:00am to 5:00pm. You will provide prescribed radiation therapy and collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans in a fast-paced, technologically advanced setting.

Minimum qualifications include CAHEA-approved education or ARRT registry eligibility, active state licensure, and BLS certification. Preference for candidates with IMRT/IGRT experience and EMR familiarity.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology or registry eligible.
  • Board certified Registered Radiation Therapist through the ARRT, R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT) in good standing.
  • Current state licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • Experience with Radiation Oncology and specific electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic and patient care services to deliver radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.
  • Determine and deliver appropriate patient treatment plans in collaboration with physician and dosimetrist.
  • Monitor and document patient's condition, report any adverse reactions.
  • Assess and educate patients according to specific department protocols.
  • Position patients and select anatomic/technical parameters accurately.
  • Check and adjust necessary equipment, including linear accelerator.

As aRadiationTherapist, you willimplementprescribedtreatmentsto patients with various forms of cancer.Radiation is administered in therapeutic doses and can send certain localized forms of cancer into remission. A caregiver in this position worksPRN (as needed) variable shifts.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Experience withExternalRadiationTherapy, IMRT, IGRT andCTSimulation


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping, reaching and lifting.
  • Ability to lift materials weighing up to 35 lbs. Ability to push/pull over 100 lbs. Dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions.
  • Safe Operating Procedure for x-ray generating equipment.
  • Ability to work the hours of operation - flexible. Ability to take "call" on weekdays and weekends based on a rotational schedule.
  • Ability to float to other CCHS facilities when needed.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
