Role:

Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions while ensuring safety and precision.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiation equipment following safety protocols and perform complex technical procedures.
• Participate in Quality Control monitoring and ensure consistent, accurate therapy delivery.
• Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide specialized care considering patient age (adolescent, adult, geriatric).
• Document treatment details accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on side effects and treatment aids.
• Manage patient setup, simulate new patients, and schedule treatments effectively.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed, including radiation safety badges and universal precautions.
• Assist in on-call rotations and participate as a clinical instructor for students, evaluating and providing feedback.
• Report adverse reactions immediately and follow policies for documentation.
• Perform other tasks as assigned, adhering to organizational policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Certifications: ARRT-T in Radiation Therapy, BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Minimum two years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
• Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately.
