Job summary

Pride Health seeks a Radiation Therapist to set up patients, operate treatment equipment, and ensure precise delivery of prescribed radiation therapy. The role requires experience with Varian TrueBeam and Mosaiq EMR, plus at least one year in clinical therapeutic radiation therapy.

The candidate will perform daily QA, maintain treatment records, explain procedures to patients, and support chart rounds and scheduling in a collaborative oncology team.

Qualifications

• Experience on Varian TrueBeam technology and Mosaiq EMR.
• One year of clinical therapeutic radiation therapy experience.
• Graduate of AMA approved school in radiation therapy.

Responsibilities

• Accurately sets up patients for treatment, prepares treatment rooms and equipment, uses immobilization devices, beam shaping, wedges, and compensating filters as required.
• Administers therapeutic radiation treatments according to the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription and instructions, checks prescriptions for mathematical or technical errors, and performs simple dose calculations using computer software.
• Verifies and localizes treatment areas using radiographic film or electronic media, interprets beam films/port-images for accuracy, and ensures appropriate review and approval.
• Maintains accurate daily treatment records, performs chart checks, reports discrepancies, and assists with chart rounds and scheduling as needed.
• Performs daily QA and safety checks on treatment machines/simulators, detects malfunctions, maintains equipment in safe working condition, and reports defects or deficiencies for adjustment and repair.
• Explains treatment procedures to patients, answers questions, provides reassurance, maintains communication during treatment, reports unusual or adverse reactions, and maintains an organized treatment room stocked with supplies.
