Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for our South Austin location. This full-time role supports the Radiation department with standard weekday hours (8:30am-5pm). Levels 1, 2, or Sr may apply based on experience, with no weekends or major holidays required.

The ideal candidate will hold an RN license, have oncology experience if possible, and be prepared to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a community oncology setting.

Qualifications

• RN state license in practicing state (Texas preferred).
• 0-3 years nursing experience, oncology preferred for Level 1.
• Oncology certification preferred for Level 2.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
• Assess health status and patient/family needs; provide teaching and information.
• Triages patient phone calls and documents in chart; coordinate services.
• Support and collaborate with interdisciplinary team; assist patients in accessing resources.
• Serve as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Texas Oncology is looking for a Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This full time position will support the Radiation department for the South Austin location. What does the Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Must recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participates in company-wide quality initiatives. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assesses health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material.
  • Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitates clinical operations and patient care
  • Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • As necessary, facilitates communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinates services related to patient care.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
• Inter professional collaboration
  • Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience:

Level 1

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• 0-3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Level 2 (in Addition To Level 1 Requirements)

• 3-5 years nursing experience.
• Oncology certification preferred.

Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements)

• Five years nursing experience.
