Job summary

Perma-Fix Environmental Services, Inc. seeks an experienced health physics technician to support the Radiological Protection Plan, including air sampling, surveys, and contamination control. You will operate specialized counting and spectroscopy equipment, maintain data records, and assist in incident response.

The role requires three+ years in applied health physics, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to obtain DOE L or Q clearance. A valid driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years’ experience in applied health physics.
• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license.
• DOE “L” or “Q” security clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform air sampling, radiation surveys, contamination control and monitoring.
• Operate count room equipment and gamma spectroscopy systems including ISOCS.
• Maintain records, respond to accidents and emergencies, and manage PPE use.
• Generate radiological data records and review data reports.
• Support safety tasks and participate in action plans for deficiencies.
• Follow written work plans, protocols, and procedures with accuracy.
