Job summary

Adventist Health Lodi Memorial is seeking a Radiation Therapist to administer ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with physician prescriptions. You will prepare treatment areas, verify patient information, and deliver prescribed radiotherapy while monitoring patient safety.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in radiological technology or equivalent, ARRT-T certification, and CPR/BLS certification, with a fluoroscopy permit as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in radiological technology or equivalent; ARRT-Radiation Therapy is required.
• ARRT-Radiation Therapy certification (ARRT-T) required.
• CPR or BLS certification required by AH policy.
• Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice required.

Responsibilities

• Administers ionizing irradiation to patients per prescriptions and physician instructions.
• Delivers prescribed radiation therapy treatment, prepares room/equipment, and assists immobilization procedures.
• Observes patients for adverse reactions, reports to supervisor/physician, and ensures patient safety.

Administers ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians.

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART-T) and Certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT): Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice, Department of Health Services: ARRT-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T): Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• ~ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Delivers the prescribed course of radiation therapy by checking prescription, diagnosis chart, and patient identification. Prepares room and equipment for patient according to prescription or simulation regarding immobilization devices, etc., transfers patient to treatment couch, giving attention to the special needs of the patient.
• Observes patients for unusual reactions and for signs and symptoms of developing complications during treatment, reporting reactions and complications to supervisor and department physician
• Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students' practical ability to perform procedures.
