Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a Physician Scientist in Radiation Oncology for a two-year Mentored Faculty Physician Scientist Program. The successful MD or MD/PhD candidate will conduct translational research, with up to 20% clinical time, under a dedicated FH RO mentor.

Candidates must be board eligible or certified in Radiation Oncology, eligible for Washington licensure, and have publications. The program offers salary support and potential for external funding.

Qualifications

• MD, MD/PhD or foreign equivalent.
• Completion or in the final year of residency in Radiation Oncology.
• Demonstrated track record of academic achievement, including relevant publications.
• Eligible for unrestricted licensure in Washington and state instructor appointment.

Responsibilities

• Develop a research project under FH RO guidance, focused on radiotherapy advances.
• Participate in outpatient Radiation Oncology Clinic at South Lake Union Medical Center.
• Seek external funding opportunities during the first year with mentor support.
• Contribute to translational radiobiology research using available shared resources.
