Job summary

McLaren Port Huron is seeking a Medical Physicist to provide physics services to the Radiation Oncology Department, ensuring high-quality radiation treatment and patient/staff safety. Responsibilities include beam characterization, equipment calibration, treatment planning support, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a CAMPEP‑accredited Master’s in Medical Physics with ABR certification and 1–5 years post‑certification experience, with strong computer and EMR skills,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP accredited program.
• ABR Certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
• 1–5 years of work experience post certification.
• Excellent computer skills with networks and interfaces.
• Knowledge of radiation therapy QA, treatment planning, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Establish radiation beam characteristics for clinical use.
• Calibrate and QA radiation therapy equipment.
• Assist in simulation and patient setup for treatments.
• Collaborate on treatment planning and dose calculations (external beam, brachytherapy).
• Maintain records and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in Radiation Safety Committee and QA programs.
