Highlands Oncology Group is seeking a Billing Representative in Radiation Oncology to support patients throughout their treatment journey by handling insurance denials, billing, and prior authorizations. The role includes investigating denials and assisting with charge entry and PA workflows.

Qualifications

• Proficient use of EMR systems, Centricity, Excel and Word.
• Adapt to CMS, Medicaid, and private insurer billing rules.
• Professional communication and etiquette via phone and computer.
• Independent worker with healthcare team collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Investigate and resolve insurance denials; submit documentation and appeals.
• Review denial trends and communicate findings to prevent future denials.
• Obtain medical records or other documentation for payer substantiation.
• File and follow up on appeals as necessary.
• Communicate claim status with insurance representatives and internal/external customers.
• Maintain knowledge of carrier requirements, billing guidelines, and authorization parameters.
• Cross-train in radiation charge entry and enter verified radiation charges.
• Assist with collection and reconciliation of radiation charges.
• Cross-train in prior authorization processes; provide PA support.
• Collaborate with Physics, Physicians, Medical Records and others to obtain needed information.
• Assist with tracking documentation from physicians for billing and claim resolution.
• Meet with patients for statements and Cancer Policy questions.
• Track inpatient billing and send monthly statements.
• Help develop financial reports and treatment statistics for Administration and Physicians.
• Support reporting, coding, compliance, and MIPS.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and comply with policies and procedures.
• Attend financial and administrative meetings as designated.
