Job description

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Required certifications include being Board Eligible or Board Certified for the American Board of Radiology.

Teaching responsibilities may include the teaching, training and mentoring of radiation oncology residents, medical physics residents, medical physics graduate students, visiting physics residents or trainees from other institutions or other countries, etc. Other informal and formal teachings include, but are not limited to participating in resident didactic series, both as a lecturer and as an in-person discussant.

Clinical responsibilities may include treatment of various disease sites, with some focus on GU and CNS; evaluation and management of patients diagnosed with cancer, and the delivery of radiation therapy‑related care. This position is located primarily at our Pennsylvania Hospital site (800 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107).

Penn Radiation Oncology is dedicated to a three‑part mission of excellence in patient care, basic and translational research, and the education of residents and medical students. Penn Medicine delivers a broad range of radiation therapy services to its patients, including intensity‑modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high‑dose‑rate (HDR) brachytherapy, partial breast irradiation, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT using Gamma Knife /Cyberknife/Varian Linac). Patients will also have access to proton therapy at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center, housing the largest proton therapy facility in the USA, comprising four gantry treatment rooms and one fixed beam room.
