Radiation Oncologist, Sarcoma Disease Site Leader

The Department of Radiation Oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) seeks a full‑time faculty member with expertise in sarcoma radiation oncology. As a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School and a partner in the DFCI/BIDMC/HMFP collaboration, this role will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the sarcoma oncology program across the department and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care focused on sarcoma radiation oncology at the Main Campus in Boston.
• Lead the development and execution of the program’s strategic vision, guiding clinical growth and program development.
• Drive performance against key clinical, operational, and quality goals and ensure continuous improvement in patient outcomes, access, and experience.
• Advocate for the disease site within departmental decision‑making and represent the program in the development of the new freestanding adult inpatient cancer hospital.
• Integrate sarcoma oncology priorities into clinical planning, operational design, and care model innovation as the department builds for the future.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to establish the research direction of the group, including clinical trials, translational research, and outcomes research.
• Teach and conduct research activity appropriate to the academic appointment level at Harvard Medical School.

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Radiation Oncology (or eligibility within one year of employment).
• Individual Federal DEA registration.
• Massachusetts Medical License.
• MA Controlled Substance Registration.
• Experience and qualifications supporting an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor).
• Eligibility to provide clinical care at Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute following regulatory approval.

Salary & Benefits

Pay Range: $481,000 - $534,000 (base salary). Compensation may be modified based on factors such as academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. The role may be eligible for performance‑based incentives, including bonuses for productivity and quality.
