Position Overview

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncologist to join their practice located in Lancaster, PA. The role will be based in the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, a 90,000 square foot state‑of‑the‑art cancer center equipped with 5 linear accelerators, 2 CT simulators, ProBeam 360 proton center, 60 infusion chairs, and 57 examination rooms.

Responsibilities

The Radiation Oncologist will ensure timely, high‑quality care for all cancer patients by providing efficient consultation services, developing and maintaining appropriate clinical treatment protocols, facilitating clinical trials, and sustaining high patient satisfaction. The oncologist will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and technical staff in the radiation department and will contribute to new clinical programs and innovations that expand service offerings.

Current modalities include:

  • 2x True Beam linear accelerators
  • 2 Halcyon machines with plans for ETHOS adaptive planning upgrade
  • Nation’s first CyberKnife M6 with MLC
  • Respiratory gating / 4D CT scanning
  • Cone Beam CT image guidance
  • HDR brachytherapy
  • ProBeam 360 proton center, the first compact single‑vault center in the world
Position Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (Allopathic/Osteopathic)
  • Completion of an accredited one‑year internship
  • Completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology Residency
  • Board Certified in Radiation Oncology
  • Possess or be able to obtain an unrestricted PA Medical License
  • Expertise in all modalities appropriate for the specific disease site, including brachytherapy and stereotactic radiation therapy
