Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a dedicated Radiation Engineer to own the end-to-end radiation hardness assurance process for LEO and MEO spacecraft, payloads, and avionics. You will define environments, margins, and evidence to manage radiation risk throughout the mission life.

You will collaborate with EEE Parts Engineering and hardware teams to screen parts, assess data, and guide mitigation including shielding, design margins, and testing strategies, with relocation/travel up to

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a technical discipline.
• 5+ years in spacecraft radiation effects or related field.
• Knowledge of TID and SEE mechanisms and shielding.
• Experience interpreting radiation test data for parts and conditions.
• Ability to communicate radiation requirements and risks across teams.

Responsabilités

• Develop, maintain and execute the TeraWave RHA plan for LEO/MEO spacecraft and subsystems.
• Define external/internal radiation environments and margins for mission life.
• Evaluate EEE parts and optoelectronics for radiation effects and mitigation thresholds.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to implement shielding, margins, and testing strategies.
• Maintain radiation risk register and support design reviews and flight-readiness.
