Job summary

Amentum seeks a Radiation Effects Scientist to assess and mitigate radiation impact on system performance across environments and components. You will model interactions, participate in test plans, and contribute to training materials throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires a Master’s degree with 10+ years in radiation engineering and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Prior DoD collaboration and a Doctorate are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant field.
• 10+ years of Radiation Engineering, electronic component testing, or related experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. US Citizenship required to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering decisions based on radiation effects on overall system performance.
• Design and harden systems across multiple radiation effects (dose rate, TID, NDD, SEE).
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to maintain radiation hardening across the product lifecycle.
