Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience in experimental laboratory research with ionizing radiation physics.
  • Experience in radiation laboratory environment with calibration equipment.
  • Familiarity with liquid radioactive solutions.
  • Knowledge of general laboratory safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration of well chambers and radioactive sources.
  • Consults with department personnel on proper protocol for maintaining laboratory compliance with accrediting organizations.
  • Provides instruction and technical support on measurement instrumentation.
  • Radiation and Laboratory safety.
  • Contributes to radiation dosimetry research through presentations.
  • Facilitates cooperative research groups to improve instrumentation.
  • Designs, implements, and executes research plans for improving metrology instrumentation.
