Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a Radar Technician to join the MPEx team in Poway, CA. The role involves depot level repair, integration, testing and maintenance of complex radar sensors for airborne platforms.

The candidate should have an associate degree or equivalent with 3+ years of experience, be able to work under high-stress conditions, and possess skills in troubleshooting, reading drawings, and operating control systems. DoD clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of experience after an associate degree or equivalent.
• Ability to work on systems with high pressure, high voltage, or hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of computer operations and applications relevant to the field.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
• Special skills to use complex equipment or experimental apparatus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct depot level repair, integration and testing, modification and operation of radar/SAR/GMTI sensors.
• Operate specialized test equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance in lab and field.
• Fabricate, modify, assemble, install, and maintain complex equipment for labs and experiments.
• Assist in the design of basic lab, experimental and commercial equipment.
• Apply specialized knowledge to projects or programs assigned.
• Utilize SAP processes to track defective components.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Radar Technician to join our MPEx team located in Poway, CA.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct depot level repair, integration and testing, modification and operation of complex synthetic aperture radar (SAR) / ground moving target indicator (GMTI) and other airborne sensors.


• Operate specialized test equipment in the performance of troubleshooting and maintaining sensors, both in the laboratory and in the field.


• Performs and/or assists in fabrication, modification, assembly, installation, operation, repair and maintenance of complex laboratory, experimental and commercial equipment.


• May assist in the design of basic lab, experimental, and commercial equipment.


• Applies specialized knowledge and skills pertinent to the organization, project or program assigned.


• Will utilize SAP processes to track defective components.

Job Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.


• Must have analytical ability to read and understand detailed instructions, drawings and specifications. Communication skills necessary to write and record precise information.


• Special skills and expertise to use complex equipment or experimental techniques.


• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.

Job Type: Full-Time Hourly

Salary range: 56,180 - 83,518
