Job summary

Aptiv PLC in California is seeking a radar systems engineer to develop and evaluate waveform processing and DSP algorithms for automotive radar. You will verify algorithms, create test plans, and document software requirements for system-level design.

The role requires a Master’s degree with 3+ years or a PhD in engineering/physics, strong MATLAB/Python skills, and solid communication and teamwork abilities. Relocation assistance and development opportunities are available.

• Strong analytical and problem solving; MATLAB/Python proficiency.
• Knowledge of digital signal processing; radar systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop system, algorithm and software verification test plans; data collection and analysis.
• Design documentation, software requirements definition; create test plans and reports.

Description

• Develop, test and evaluation of waveforms and signal processing algorithms for automotive radar systems.
• Develop system, algorithm and software verification test plans and perform test data collection, data processing and analysis
• Design documentation, software requirements definition; create test plans and test reports;
• Present design concepts, radar performance, tradeoff studies, and algorithms to team members, management and customers

Position Requirements:

• Master degree with 3+ years of experience or Ph.D. degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or other technical field
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills Computer based simulation or analysis Matlab/Python proficiency
• Knowledge of digital signal processing
• Graduate‑level coursework and/or hand‑on project experience in radar systems and radar signal processing
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Team player
• Highly motivated, flexible, and well organized

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in radar systems and radar signal processing
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: ML, SAR, MIMO, STAP, compressive sensing, micro‑Doppler analysis, super resolution techniques, spectrum analysis, object recognition
